Scholarships
There are a variety of ways for you to earn a scholarship through Army ROTC, depending on your current student status.
High School Students
The High School Scholarship is for high school students planning on attending a four-year college program.
If you are a current student in high school, you can start your ROTC journey by applying for an Army ROTC Scholarship starting June 12, the summer between your junior and senior year.
The Army National ROTC scholarships consist of:
- Three and Four-year scholarships awarded to High School Students who apply within their senior year.
- Pays full tuition and fees.
- Receive an additional $1200 per year book allowance.

High school students should contact their high school academic advisor, JROTC instructor, or the Recruiting Operations Officer (ROO) Adrian Testani at atestani@flsouthern.edu or (863) 680-4241 for more information.
These National Scholarship boards are extremely competitive, but the rewards are more than worth it. Gaining this scholarship will significantly relieve families of the financial burden of trying to pay for college.
Requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be at least 17 and under 31 in year of commissioning.
- Have a high school GPA of at least 2.50
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Score a minimum of 1000 on the SAT (math/verbal) or 19 on the ACT (excluding the required writing test scores)
- Take the Army Fitness Test (AFT)
- Meet the physical weight and height requirements.
- Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component (Army Reserve or Army National Guard)
Commitment:
- An eight-year service commitment with the Army.
- Serve full time in the Army for four years and four years with the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR).
Selected Cadets may choose to serve part time in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career.
College Students
College students who are attending FSC or its partner schools can compete for campus-based scholarships if available. Requirements to earn a campus-based scholarship are:
- Must be a full-time student in good standing and enrolled in the ROTC course.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must pass the Army Fitness Test (AFT).
- Must be academically aligned to complete all required ROTC courses either through normal progression, dual-enrollment, or ROTC Basic Camp.
Campus-based scholarships offer the same tuition incentives as the National High School scholarship.
Nursing Student Scholarship
Nursing students can apply for any Army ROTC scholarship. Being a nurse in the Army provides you with opportunities not found in the civilian world, including a three-week paid Nurse Summer Training Program, which introduces students to the Army Medical Department and the roles and responsibilities of an Army Nurse Corps Officer.
Additional Incentives
At Florida Southern College, Army ROTC Scholarships Contract Cadets are eligible to receive free room and board grants, and also receive a $420 per month stipend allowance for 10 months during each school year.
