Campus Ministries

Florida Southern College is proud of its United Methodist heritage, but we celebrate and support students from many different denominations and faith traditions. The Chaplain's Office makes it easy for you to:

On-Campus Worship

Join interdenominational worship and find faith-based fellowship on campus.

Local Church Connections

Connect with churches in Lakeland that reflect your faith background.

Community & Growth

Learn and grow alongside peers from a variety of faith traditions.

Worship on Campus

FSC students can take part in weekly and monthly worship opportunities within our vibrant, diverse campus community. All on-campus services are open to students of every denomination.

Weekly Worship Service

Beyond Campus Ministry – every Thursday, Annie Pfeiffer Chapel, 7:30 PM

Beyond Campus Ministry is the largest student-led ministry, and the largest weekly student-led organization, at Florida Southern. Join Beyond’s community every Thursday night for fellowship, community, praise, and worship that is entirely student-led.

Monthly Worship Service

The Feast  – first Sunday of every month, Fannin Center, 5:30 PM

The Feast is a monthly Dinner Church service hosted in the Fannin Center and led by the Chaplain’s Office. All students are invited to gather once a month on campus to share a free meal, worship together as one community, and celebrate Holy Communion.

Connections to Off-Campus Communities

The Chaplain’s Office offers opportunities for all students to easily connect with churches in the Lakeland community that reflect their traditions.

Sunday Worship Shuttle

The Sunday Worship Shuttle makes it easy for you to connect with local churches in the Lakeland community. Provided by the Office of Campus Safety, the shuttle drops students off at participating churches and returns within 20 minutes after each service ends:

  • Saint Joseph Catholic Church - Bus departs at 8:45 AM, Worship begins at 9 AM
  • Grace City - Bus departs at 10:30 AM, Worship begins at 10:45 AM
  • First United Methodist Church - Bus departs at 10:45 AM, Worship begins at 11 AM (Two Services: The Current and Traditional Worship)
  • Access Church - Bus departs at 11:30 AM, Worship begins at 12 PM

Whether you’d like to attend a church from your own tradition or explore new faith communities with friends, this service offers a safe and convenient way to worship off campus.

The shuttle begins the first Sunday after classes start each semester and runs every Sunday throughout the academic year.

Communities Within Walking Distance

Student-led Campus Ministries

The student-led campus ministries are at the heart of religious life at Florida Southern College. Virtually every night of the week there is an opportunity for students to put their beliefs into practice and live out their faith. With a variety of offerings, it is easy to find your niche, develop your leadership skills, and discover in community who God is calling you to be in the future.

The Table

The Table is a time of fun, food, and fellowship each week in the Fannin Center. Join us every Tuesday at 5:30 PM for a delicious, free catered meal, an uplifting message, and a time of community around tables together. There is no better event to connect with the wonderful, diverse community of FSC each week than The Table!

Remedy

Remedy is a time of relaxation and creativity every Wednesday in the Fannin Center. Join us every week from 1:30-4:30 PM on the lawn of the Fannin Center to make a new craft each week.

Chaplain’s Bible Study

Once a month, the Chaplain invites all students to join together for lunch, a brief devotional, and a time of bible study and prayer led by the Chaplain’s Office staff. This provides a wonderful time of rest, devotion, and support for students during the busy academic schedule.

Lunch & Learn

Twice a semester, the Fannin Center hosts a free lunch for students to learn about a special topic in the life of faith from an expert in the field. Each Lunch & Learn has a different theme, a different meal, and hosts a different guest speaker to help illuminate the life of faith for students and the paths that God might be calling them to walk down in their future.

Pastoral Counseling

In addition to these programs, students of all faith, or no faith at all, are welcome to come to the Fannin Center and receive free spiritual direction and pastoral counseling from the Chaplain’s Office staff. Pastoral Counseling meetings are confidential, available based on to the student’s needs and schedule, and can be arranged in-person in the Fannin Center or via email.
