Florida Southern College Archives

The Florida Southern College Archives contain the business records of the college. Business records can include correspondence, meeting minutes, policies, photographs, and ephemera that, combined, tell the story of how the college has operated over the years. Within the archives are records from the various academic and support departments that ensure the college accomplishes its mission. 


Academic Departments: Records of the teaching divisions and departments at FSC.

Academic Support: Records of the administrative and other departments that provide support for the college's teaching mission. 

Athletics Department Records: Document the rich history of the FSC athletic programs.  

Athletic Training Education Program: Records of a Bachelor's degree program that was offered at FSC from 1999-2019.

Buildings & Grounds: Correspondence, photos, and ephemera that document the physical structures and features of FSC.

William B. Cokroft Forum for Free Enterprise: The William B. Cockroft Forum for Free Enterprise was founded in 1977 with initial funding from Dr. William D. Cockroft, a successful entrepreneur who did not enter the business world until after he retired and closed his successful dental practice. The Cockroft forum brought business and corporate leaders to college campuses to discuss the merits of the American system of free enterprise. 

College Life: The files in this collection relate to the clubs and activities at Florida Southern College.  These include files related to the Greek Organizations, Professional Fraternities, and Social Clubs. Please note that access to certain files is restricted due to the sensitive nature therein.

Commencement: Programs, articles, images, and correspondence related to the commencement celebrations of the college.

Convocation: Programs, schedules, articles, and photos related to the convocation activities, 1949-2019.

Festival of Fine Arts: The Festival of Fine Arts is a long-running tradition at Florida Southern College. As of 2015, the series will be entering its 51st year of bringing valuable musical and theatrical performances to the school and surrounding community. This collection also includes materials from the “Vagabonds” series: Florida Southern College’s theatrical program.

Founder's Week: Information in this series includes programs, correspondence, and news articles related to Founders Week. Information regarding Honorary Chancellors is also in this series, so make sure to cross reference with the Honorary Chancellor Records when conducting research.

Homecoming: Homecoming brochures and other ephemera, 1960-2016.

Publications: Newsletters, media guides, academic bulletins, handbooks, and student-led publications of the college.

The Southern: The Southern is the student newspaper at FSC.
