Poster Printing Service

Roux Library offers a poster printing service for FSC students, faculty, and staff. This service is available Sunday 10:00am-10:00pm, Monday-Thursday 9:00am-10:00pm, and Friday 9:00am-4:00pm.

The library recommends two business days' notice to guarantee printing. During the last two weeks of the semester, ALL requests must be scheduled ahead of time.

Poster Printing Charges

The library’s poster printer uses 42″ wide paper. Poster printing charges are determined by length:

  • 24 x 36 inches costs $20.00
  • 36 x 48 inches costs $25.00
  • 36 x 60 inches costs $30.00
  • after 60 inches or more in length, it costs $5.00 per additional 12 inches

Charge Permissions

Payment is accepted via cash, check (made out to FSC), or your student account can be billed. No credit/debit cards are accepted. Permission to charge a college department must be granted in advance.

Proofread your poster. You pay for reprinting if mistakes in the text or images are discovered after printing. The library may decline a printing request if the poster does not relate to the curriculum, or for any other reason.

Printing Preparation

  • Your poster must be printer-ready. This website gives tips: https://www.posterpresentations.com/html/free_poster_templates.html.
  • if your poster uses FSC logos, it is recommended that you use logos on this site: https://flsouthern.mediavalet.com/portals/fsc-brand-guidelines.
  • Create your poster using Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher, or image editing software such as Photoshop. Caution: using a web-based version of PowerPoint can produce unreliable results. The desktop version of PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Your poster must be saved as a .pdf, .png, or PowerPoint file. A PowerPoint file often produces the best results.
  • If using PowerPoint, save the file as a .pdf in the same dimensions as the poster to be printed (e.g., 36 x 48). Remember that this will only save a single slide so place all materials on the slide you want to print.
  • When adding graphics or images to your design, choose at least 300 dpi (600dpi is better) in a .png, .jpg, or .tif format. This will help mitigate pixilation when enlarged.
  • Poster-ready files may be sent to posters@flsouthern.edu or brought to the library on a flash drive.
