Vincent Miozzi, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Economics
Teaching holds a special place in my heart, and I firmly believe in the transformative power it possesses both for students and professors alike. Teaching is more than just a profession; it is an essential vocation. I have a responsibility not just to impart knowledge, but to guide my students and help them discover their vocations, just as I strive to fulfill mine. Yes, I may be the leader of the classroom, but I lead by racing to the bottom and walking with my students. Just as my professors were to me, I strive to be the kind of professor that is an educator, motivator, and role model all in one.
Biography
Vincent is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise at Florida Southern College. He is also a faculty fellow at the Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. He currently teaches principles of macroeconomics and comparative economic systems. Prior to joining FSC, Vincent has taught courses at Texas Tech University, Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala, and Hillsdale College. His research interests center around institutional economics, political economy, and public choice with a pronounced focus on economic freedom using the Economic Freedom of the World index published annually by the Fraser Institute. Vincent received his bachelor's degree in economics from Hillsdale College, and master's degree and Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Texas Tech University where he was also a Research Assistant at the Free Market Institute. Vincent is originally from Solon, OH—just outside of Cleveland.
