Biology

This major is designed to prepare aspiring educators with a thorough understanding of biological concepts, instructional methodologies, and curriculum development tailored for middle and high school settings. Students delve into classes such as cellular biology, genetics, and ecology, while gaining practical experience through teaching practicums and classroom observations. Graduates are equipped to engage students in scientific inquiry, foster critical thinking skills, and instill a lifelong appreciation for the natural world among their students.

English Literature

This major immerses students in an array of literary works spanning genres, cultures, and historical periods. Through coursework that explores classic and contemporary literature, future educators develop analytical and interpretive skills essential for teaching middle and high school students. Graduates are prepared to inspire a love for literature, nurture literary analysis and critical thinking, and guide students in understanding the diverse perspectives and themes inherent in English literature. Graduates earn their ESOL and Reading Endorsements.

Mathematics

This major prepares students to teach math at the middle and high school levels.
