Shaping the Future of Work Through Ethical Leadership

Oct 27, 2025

Natalie Roth, a current student in the Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology program at Florida Southern College is taking more than a step forward in her education. For her, it’s a strategic move toward creating meaningful change in the workplace.

“My goal is to become a leader in organizational development, using research-based strategies to improve workplace culture, safety, and employee well-being,” she shares. “This advanced degree will give me the tools to design ethical, effective systems—especially around AI and compliance—and help me take on more strategic roles in my organization and beyond.”

Currently working as a project manager for Process Control Service, Natalie is already applying her knowledge to help improve employee engagement and compliance. In the long term, she aspires to consult or lead in a forward-thinking organization that values data-driven solutions and ethical leadership.

Natalie’s academic journey at Florida Southern began during her undergraduate years where a strong mentorship shaped her decision to stay and pursue her graduate studies.

“I had the incredible opportunity to build a strong relationship with Dr. Lew, the Director of the MSIO program,” she explains. “She not only taught me valuable skills but supported me every step of the way. Her mentorship was a major reason I chose to continue my education here.”

Natalie highlights the college’s highly personalized approach to education, where small class sizes, one-on-one faculty mentorship, and opportunities for hands-on research and professional conference presentations allow students to grow far beyond the classroom.

From the first day in the MSIO program, Natalie has felt both supported and challenged in ways that have helped her grow professionally and personally.

“The professors really know their stuff, but what makes them stand out is how approachable and encouraging they are,” she says. “They create space for open conversations, critical thinking, and finding ways to connect what we’re learning to real-life situations.”

Balancing full-time work with graduate school isn’t easy, but Natalie says Florida Southern’s supportive environment makes it possible.

“Don’t be afraid to lean on your classmates—your cohort can be a great source of support, encouragement, and even accountability. Most importantly, don’t hesitate to ask for help. Whether it’s a professor, advisor, or fellow student, there’s always someone at FSC willing to guide you. The community here wants to see you succeed, and that makes all the difference.”

With a strong academic foundation, real-world experience, and a passion for ethical, strategic leadership, Natalie Roth is well on her way to driving innovation and progress in the workplace.
